Also, this is the Robocup I was talking about in my presentation. The official goal: "By mid-21st century, a team of fully autonomous humanoid robot soccer players shall win the soccer game, complying with the official rule of the FIFA, against the winner of the most recent World Cup."
There have been many versions of Robocup over the years with different robots -- did you see any of the ones that involved dogs playing soccer?
ReplyDeleteRobots playing soccer against humans? *terrified shriek* But now that I think about it, those would be great training partners . . . maybe I could adjust the robot's skill level and it'd make me better at playing soccer. This is, of course, assuming the robot would be cheap enough to buy and maintain, annnnnnd that I'll live to the mid-21st century. Crap, scratch that, I'll never get a robot friend to play soccer with. *single tear*
